Discovering the path to communication success with multi-channel community engagement

The district’s Strategic Plan outlines four pillars of professional practices for the staff to follow. One of them focuses on building “strong partnerships with families and community.” To be successful, this requires the following:

  • Teachers connecting effectively with families regularly, using a variety of communication methods
  • School leaders facilitating monthly parent meetings, providing information and resources regarding parent/family support of students’ education
  • District/school staff using a variety of communication tools consistently to facilitate interaction in multiple languages through a user-friendly system

  • 711,609 website page views per month
  • Over 6,500 downloads of the mobile app and still continue to see spikes of downloads at school activities where the app is being promoted
  • Over 1,400 different messages have been sent through the mass notification system to nearly 800,000 contacts
